The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will purchase the old Hotel Roberts property just south of the Provo Tabernacle. According to today's Deseret News, "With that sale nearly the entire block of 100 to 200 South and University Avenue to 100 West will be owned by the LDS Church. Only the post office remains" ("Hotel Roberts property going to LDS Church", Deseret News, Wednesday 28 September 2011, A1).
The properties also on this block are Los 3 Amigos restaurant and the Provo Travelodge.
Above is a map of the locations. Where the word "Provo" is located in 100 South. The LDS Church will own most of the land stretching in between Center Street and 200 South, and University Avenue and 100 West. As more news on this purchase materializes, The Mormon Eagle will release more on this issue.
